On a visit to South Africa in the summer of 2004, founder, Michael Onibokun made his way to the "mother city", Cape Town, South Africa.  At the baggage claim he saw a middle aged man with his wife, who was faithfully standing by her husband's side trying to claim their luggage. The couple caught Michael's attention because they were wearing similar T-shirts. Boldly written on the shirts were the dreaded sentence, " I am HIV positive!". Like most people, Michael read about the widespread disease and its effects. Michael had even lost a very personal friend to the same disease. However, not until that moment did he really feel the impact and prevalence of the disease in the African Continent. His heart bled for the couple and for a moment a fearful thought struck him of what would become of their children, if they had any.

Due to HIV/AIDS, many children in Africa are orphaned and abandoned without critical guidance, shelter and support. From the fearful thought of what would become of these  children came the conviction in Michael's heart that "I think I can feed an extra child!"

From this conviction, the idea of Precious Souls was born. Children are the future of our world. The Good book says that for theirs is the kingdom of God (Luke 18:16).  We believe that life is God's gift to us and what we give back to the world is our gift to Him. Therefore, for all those who believe in the dignity of the human race, for those who care to make the world a better place, for everyone who dares to make a difference, we challenge you to put a smile on a child's face. To those who have a desire to lift the burdens of abandoned, neglected and orphaned children of our world, you indeed are a Precious Soul. Please join us to become the solution to an overwhelming and growing epidemic.
